What is a Viewing Key:
Viewing keys allow users to view encrypted token balances on Secret Network. They let you see your own balances, and can also allow third parties access. Viewing keys are important for auditors, wallets, explorers, and etc to provide a good user experience.

How Viewing Keys Interact with Shade Protocol:
To see your $SHD token balance, you need to create a $SHD viewing key. Once created, this key will work in other places that use your $SHD balance too. Each device needs its own viewing key generated.
How to Refresh a Viewing Key
If you need to refresh your key you will repeat the same steps as “Creating a Viewing Key”.
In the Shade app, Navigate to your portfolio
Find the token you would like to see a balance for
Select “View Balance”
Your Keplr wallet extension will pop up with auto-populated information such as Contract Address, Name, Symbol and Decimal
Click “Confirm”
Approve the transaction
