The time has come to formally outline the broader Shade Protocol strategy and goals for 2024. Note that, none of these items are guaranteed. However, these are important targets that we want to collectively & transparently share with the community.

Early this month - we took the time to outline our North Star:

We believe every human should have private access to a global decentralized bank in the palm of their hands.

As such, all roadmap items reflect this goal - we aim to complete the majority of key financial functions needed within this diversified unstoppable decentralized protocol to fulfill the promise of the Shade Protocol North Star.

Q4 2023

1. Launch dSHD - unlock SHD staking utility

2. API V2 - launch powerful infrastructure to power the future of Shade Protocol analytics, user experience, and data informed decision making framework.

3. Dynamic Incentives Framework (DIF) - convert ShadeSwap incentives into a dynamic / reactive system driven by volume & usage.

Q1 2024

1. Launch Shade Money Market - empower users to seamlessly lend & borrow different cryptocurrencies & digital assets, all with privacy protecting their key DeFi metadata.

2. Launch FINA integrated pre-paid debit cards - bridge the gap between DeFi yield & everyday commerce

3. LP tokens as $SILK collateral

Q2 2024

1. Launch Liquidity Orderbook - empower users to seamlessly and efficiently liquidity provide and trade their crypto assets

2. Launch Shade Governance - empower the collective community to fully manage the entire of Shade Protocol using DAOs & SubDAOs to organize into a variety of groups

Q3 2024

1. Launch Shade Perpetual Swaps - increase the ability of users to (privately) hedge and financially express their various convictions using a powerful leverage product.

2. Lend V2 - convert Shade Earn into simpler experience, where all liquidations are converted into SILK.

Q4 2024

1. Shade cross-deployment - cross deploy Shade app suite to Neutron, Terra, or Shade Protocol app chain existing under the Secret Network SEZ model (Secret Economic Zone)

2. Tax tracking tools - allow users to seamless track all of their transaction interactions with the Shade App

R&D Items

The above items all have relative timelines and targets. However, the Shade Protocol team is actively participating in R&D or currently developing multiple items that we are not comfortable placing on the roadmap.

Conclusion

Without privacy, DeFi is incomplete. Traditional financial markets offer a degree of privacy for users, and as a result offer up greater protections in some capacity than existing DeFi markets. Shade Protocol will be the world’s first truly cohesive decentralized and privacy-preserving financial applications — ushering in a golden era for Web3. Shade Protocol will always push for privacy by default, privacy as an expectation, and privacy as the key to unlocking the full value of a decentralized future.
